Commission a caricature for yourself or as a gift. You will receive a digital copy of your artwork, have the option to buy an A4 print and choose whether to have it packaged in a matt black presentation box or mounted and framed. How it works

The whole process takes around 14 days from you placing your order to date of dispatch. Below you can find the step by step process including details on information I need from you so I can get started creating your caricature.

Step One

Contact me via the contact form below, email (caffersart@gmail.com) or any of my social media channels and tell me what you would like (number of people and any objects or custom backgrounds) and I will then send you a quote.

If you're happy to go ahead I will ask you to send me reference photos and other information (listed below) for me to refer to when creating your portrait. These will be sent to my email address (caffersart@gmail.com) after placing your order. 

What I need from you

Reference photos

I like to work from multiple reference photos to give you the best most accurate caricature that I can. Here are some guidelines for you when searching for the perfect images to send me.

Full Face and/or body- Several full face and/or body photos from varying angles would be ideal. This allows me to create depth and get the details right. For example a photo where the person facing head on allows me to clearly see the width and angle of certain features. A side profile photo and 3/4 angles gives me the opportunity to see how big the nose is, whether the chin protrudes or is more set back and if someone has a heavy brow line. 

High Resolution - The clearer the image the more detail I can include in the portrait.

No filters - Camera filters such as the 'Beauty Filter' smooths out the skin and distorts the face not giving an accurate representation of the person in the photo.

Eye colour - Sometimes this can difficult to see in photos especially if they have particularly narrow eyes so telling me their eye colour can be especially useful.

Additional Information you may want to include

Personality - You can include a little detail on someones personality such as are they an especially happy person, are they shy, grumpy etc. Capturing someones personality really makes the portrait special and stand out.

Gender - Another important part is how someone might identify themselves along the gender spectrum, male, female, non binary, cis gender, gender fluid etc, this is especially useful in full body caricatures.

Videos - Please feel free to include any videos of the subject alongside the photos should you wish.

Payment

Once I have the reference photos and all the information I need I will send you my payment details, payment can be made either through the website, bank transfer or PayPal.

Step Three

Final Image

Once I have completed your portrait I will contact you via email and send your artwork in both PNG and JPEG formats. If you requested an A4 print they are sent via Royal Mail First Class Signed For or Parcelforce (depending on the value) so they reach you quickly and safely.
